Can Stem Cells Be Part of My Aesthetics Treatments?

It’s an exciting time in the cosmetic enhancement industry with the dramatic benefits stem cells can provide to existing treatments. Trilogy Medical & Aesthetics is on the cutting edge of stem cell therapy, and we are thrilled to bring these revolutionary advancements to our patients.

How Does Stem Cell Therapy Work?

We use undifferentiated pluripotent stem cells derived from healthy placental tissue after a C-section birth, and as such, our mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have no DNA from mother or baby. They are fully FDA inspected and registered and are used in a few ways at Trilogy Medical & Aesthetics—for rheumatoid arthritis, joint, knee, or back pain, hair restoration, and as a supplement for our iPixel laser skin resurfacing treatments.

MSCs hone in on inflamed tissues, whether that’s due to joint damage or the controlled micro-injuries created in laser skin resurfacing. Undifferentiated stem cells are “blanks” with the ability to copy any cell in the body and connect with nearly any body system. For damaged joints, this means they can grow into cartilage, tendons, muscle tissues, or in the back, spinal discs. For hair restoration, MSCs replicate hair follicles and growth factors for healthy hair growth and scalp enrichment. Stem Cell Serum applied after laser skin resurfacing treatments migrates stem cells to the areas of micro-injury, boosting the natural healing process, blood flow, and enhancing the production of collagen. Skin becomes tighter and stronger, sun damage is minimized, and even scars lighten and fade. MSCs speed recovery, elevate rejuvenation results, and overall leave you looking healthier faster than aesthetic treatments alone.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Stem cells have effectively treated patients of all ages—including babies in utero—with few side effects or rejection of the material. Patients on immunosuppression medications may be required to suspend their use prior to therapy, so be sure to talk to your Trilogy Medical provider at your consultation about any medications you take.

What Are Treatments Like?

For laser skin resurfacing treatments, Stem Cell Serum is applied to the treatment area following the procedure, and stem cells enter your skin through tiny perforations created by the laser. There is no need for injections. For hair restoration patients, stem cells are injected into the scalp, and while a topical anesthetic may be applied to minimize discomfort, there may still be injection site tenderness, redness, and swelling. However, stem cells speed healing, so the sensitivity of the area generally resolves within a day or two.

When Can I See Results?

Each cosmetic enhancement treatment has its own timeline, but stem cells will enhance those results. Skin tightening and laser skin resurfacing treatments show better cell renewal and collagen development for the support of facial tissues. Scarring and sun damage are reduced as stem cells copy into healthy skin cells adjacent to the scars, softening and fading them. Hair restoration results in a better proliferation, size, and growth of existing hair follicles and the production of new follicles in healthier, more fertile scalp tissue.

There’s so much to discover about the possibilities stem cells bring to the cosmetic enhancement industry, and Dr. Lester and the Trilogy Medical & Aesthetics team can’t wait to share those benefits with our patients. Call for a consultation today.
